Cooperative Resource Center : Georgia’s Source for Affordable Housing |

|
Finance and Project Partners
Since its inception CRC has worked successfully with numerous project financiers, utilizing nearly every type of special financing available to enhance the affordability and viability of its projects. Known for its ability to complete the most difficult and complex deals, the organization is regularly sought out by smaller, less experienced nonprofit developers and housing agencies, including faith-based groups, to provide development and finance expertise for their own projects. By building the capacity of these smaller nonprofit organizations and agencies, CRC multiplies its contribution to the affordable housing market in Georgia – often in those communities that lack participation from the for profit sector.

CRC Developes the Country’s First EarthCraft Multifamily Complexes
“The Southface Energy Institute and the Cooperative Resource Center have teamed up to produce the design specifications and construction techniques that will enhance both resource conservation during construction, and energy conservation throughout long-term operations, of several recent projects. According to Gray Kelly, EarthCraft House Mutifamily Program Manager, “The ability to “field-test” innovative ideas with committed contractors and property owners who will be managing the projects has proven invaluable in assisting Southface to refine the scope and application of sustainable principals for affordable multi-family housing construction. These principals will be utilized to change the standard for the next generation of truly affordable multi-family housing development that increases energy and resource conservation.” |
