Greenville Commons
New Construction – Multi-Family – Rural Middle Georgia
Frustrated over the lack of decent affordable housing in Greenville, Georgia, Community Action For Improvement (CAFI), Meriwether County’s community action agency, contacted CRC for help. In less than two years, CRC completed Greenville’s first affordable housing family complex. In less than one month all 36 units were filled. Greenville Commons was built according to EarthCraft standards – an energy and resource efficient program created by the Southface Energy Institute. The standards apply not only to utility efficiency, but construction and environmental practices as well. Together, CRC and Southface have led the country in superior energy-efficient multifamily construction, completing the first such project in the nation in DeKalb County in 2003.
Financing: Regions Bank, Paramount Financial Group (LIHTC), FHLB AHP Program |

The residential make-up include single parents, elderly, families, professionals and a good cross sections of persons. Greenville Commons is one of the most significant capital investments in Meriwether County in the last ten to twenty years with amenities that are unmatched in the country.”
